About Us

Our History

Recognized for our design and craftsmanship, Cascade Custom Homes and Design has become the Pacific Northwest’s premiere custom home builder, General Contractor and remodeler. Winning awards and recognition from industry peers and the many families we’ve had the pleasure of building homes for. In the past 35 years we have built custom homes and remodels for over 1,000 families. Our diverse portfolio consists of extensive home renovations, custom designed homes for expanding families, and multi-million-dollar luxury view homes.

Our Vision

As a design-build company, we’ve had much success in designing the majority of the homes we have built. We realize that the “traditional” family home is a thing of the past. Homes today need to accommodate active lifestyles, home offices, and include flexible spaces. We will take you through an extensive design process that ensures your new home meets all of your expectations. In addition, by providing you with “allowances”, we make it possible for you to control the cost of your new home while adding your personal touches.

Our Team

JON ROBERTS

President

After graduating from Washington State University with a BA emphasis in Architecture, Jon moved to Whidbey Island in 1990 and started up his own design firm located in Coupeville. In 1994 he contracted with then owner of Cascade Custom Homes, Mel Gill, as their estimator and architectural designer. Being a longtime resident of Whidbey Island and having a passion for design and the home building industry, it seemed like the next natural step for Jon was to purchase Cascade when the opportunity became available in 2000. Jon’s commitment to transcend the homebuilding experience for his clients has built an award winning reputation and helped hundreds of clients build their custom dream home. Jon has managed to run a viable company by planning for limited future resources and economical down turns. In addition to being a WSU graduate, he is a National Association of Home Builders Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist and a Certified BuiltGreen™ Builder.
